High Performance is a symptom of deep simplicity and wellbeing. When they come together there is a new level of performance fulfilment. Not simple to get right.
Deep, sustained performance lasts far beyond the sport final.
My son was skipping stones on a pond with a friend. They chatted about the number of skips and then the much larger number of ripples crossing the pond. They became fascinated more with the ripples, how fast and how far, with every stone throw. The bigger impact of their performance.
Repeated victories skip in front of us and submerge for ever. That consumes many in high performance sport. It is the short game. I see few in this game building the system they need for sustained performance.
The long game is the ripples we create, the influence and the impact.
What are you counting?
