Values Matter Most

Lately, I’ve been deep in coaching/mentoring relationships, powerful, transformative work that always begins in the same place: Values awareness and alignment.
As Carl Jung once said:
"Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”
That quote hits home, because I see it every day: when people uncover what truly matters to them, everything changes. Clarity arrives. Momentum builds. Life starts to feel like it fits.
I often say that the work I do is an absolute privilege. And I mean it. Not just because I love helping others grow, transform, and find clarity, but because the path that brought me here was shaped by the most personal of life events.
When my wife, the incredible mum to our four children, passed away during COVID, everything changed. With four kids at home as my priority, I had to dismantle the old systems that no longer fit and rebuild a life around what truly mattered, being present for my kids, staying grounded in purpose, and finding peace in the work I do.
We have no family here in New Zealand to share the load, so restructuring life was a necessity. Thankfully, we’ve been surrounded by friends who have become chosen family, people who are also deeply committed to family, creativity, and transformation.
That shared alignment has made a world of difference. That clarity brought me back to my core values. Family. Creativity. Transformation.
I see many sports and organisations with beautifully worded values printed on the wall, but often there's a gap between what's stated and what’s lived. I’ve come to realise that for transformation to truly take root, values must show up in daily actions. They are the framework for every decision I make. They give me complete peace of mind about how I spend my time, who I spend it with, and who I choose to work alongside.
I shifted my entire business model to reflect these values, eliminating heavy travel, designing my work around school hours, and building a rhythm that supports both my family and the people I serve.
The verdict? The result hasn’t just been sustainable, it’s been deeply fulfilling. I get to deliver real impact, work with remarkable humans and share rich, quality time with my kids. A family life full of creativity, growth, and transformation. Every single day, I learn something new from my kids, my clients, and from the journey itself.
But what connects it all is this: when we align our lives with our values, transformation isn’t just possible, it becomes inevitable. I’m also celebrating a milestone soon. The upcoming launch of my book, "Amplify". It’s a book born from these very values, and a celebration of the voices, stories, and shifts that emerge when we do the inner work.
So if you’re at a point where things feel out of sync, maybe the question isn’t what to do next. Maybe it’s "What do I value most?" Everything good starts from there.
If this resonates and you’re inspired to explore your own alignment and growth, I’d be honoured to support you. Personal coaching is one of the most powerful ways to build simplicity, alignment, and well-being into your world, and it would be a privilege to walk that path with you.
